Dogfighting/Cockfighting Rewards

The Humane Society of the United States offers a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in dogfighting or cockfighting.
If you have information about an animal fighting operation, here are the steps to take:

Depending on where you are located, you must first call your local police department or humane law enforcement/animal control agency.  If you are afraid or unable to speak to law enforcement, please see the bottom of this post for information on how we can help you with collecting the reward,

IN PHILADELPHIA, ANIMAL ABUSE/CRUELTY COMPLAINTS ARE HANDLED BY PSPCA HUMANE LAW ENFORCEMENT. YOU CAN REACH THE 24 HOUR PSPCA CONFIDENTIAL ANTI-CRUELTY HOTLINE AT 1-866-601-SPCA

HARRISBURG AREA:  THE CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA ANIMAL ALLIANCE HAS A TIP LINE AT 717-732-0611, OR SEND AN E-MAIL TO INFO@CPAA.INFO.

Give them as many details as you can about the suspected animal fighting operation. You do not need to give your name to law enforcement to report your information. Tell the agency about The HSUS' reward program.Note: In order to qualify for the rewards program, this must be an open case. Additionally, law enforcement officers (including ACOs and humane officers) are not eligible for the reward.

Get a letter from law enforcement. If the suspected animal fighter is convicted, ask the law enforcement agency involved in the case to write a letter to The HSUS. The letter should state that your tip helped lead to the arrest and prosecution.  The letter may be mailed, faxed, or e-mailed to:
